Manuscript catalogue in a copperplate hand of the contents of the library of Robert D'Arcy, fourth Earl of Holderness, made shortly after his death. The volumes are listed in shelf order by author, short title, size, and place and date of publication (most within the Earl's lifetime). The collection was strong in English literature; geographical works and voyages of discovery; recent European histories, and political memoirs in both French and English.
A final section, "Books Up Stairs and are now in Lady Holdernesse's possession," details such works as "Oeuvres de Voltaire. 24 Tomes. Geneva 1768," "Ld. Chesterfield's Letters," "Lettres de Montesquieu," the poems of Mason and Grey, and "Conduct of the Duchess of Marlborough."
