Reporting on the progress of Increase Mather's efforts in London to procure a new charter for the colony of Massachusetts, following the overthrow of Andros' government in New England in 1689. Sometimes considered the first attempt at issuing a newspaper in the colonies. Cf. Colonial Society of Massachusetts, Publications, v. 10, p. 310-320.

Includes: An extract of a letter from Mr. Mather, to the governour, dated Sept. 3. 1689 from Deal in Kent; A passage extracted from the publick news-letter, dated July 6, 1689; Extracted from a letter from Mather to his son, dated Sept. 2, 1689; and an Order from His Majesty ... July 30. 1689. Requiring, that Sir Edmund Andross, Edward Randolph, and others ... be sent ... to England, to answer what may be objected against them.
