The psalter and book of hours was written and illuminated in Arras, France in the middle of the 13th century. Originally executed for Ghuiluys de Boisleux and her husband Jean de Neuville-Vitasse and descended to Empress Catherine de Courtenay, wife of Charles de Valois.
