"As the stock, stereotype plates, and copyrights, belonging to Hilliard, Gray & Co. are in the market, and the disposition of them offers a favorable opportunity to commence a book fair on a new plan as an experiment, the undersigned approve of the contemplated fair to be conducted by Mr. Harrison Gray ..."--p. [2]. Signed: Boston, May 6, 1842. Munroe & Francis [and twenty-five others].
"Boston, May 9th, 1842. By the advice of my friends among the trade here, I have been induced to offer my services to conduct the proposed book fair which will be held in this city, commencing the 21st day of June next. ..."--p. [3]. Signed: Harrison Gray.
