Calumny refuted! Parker House, Boston, Nov. 2, '74. Mr. M.C. Cook, Dear Sir: We understand that for reasons best known to themselves, persons in the district in which Gen. Banks is a candidate for Congress, have made statements and spread reports to the effect that that gentleman is not in the habit of paying his bills at the Parker House, and that we had charged off $3.000 against his name as profit and loss. In justice to Gen. Banks and to ourselves, we desire to state that this is false. Gen. Banks does not now, and never did, owe bills at the Parker House. ..
