|a Manuscript, in Walpole's hand, of a draft, with numerous corrections, of a description and commentary of political events, primarily concerning Parliamentary activities, between 1769 and 1771 and then 1783-1791. Arranged by date, the drafts include descriptions of the reactions to the publication of the Junius letters; Parliamentary discussions concerning the repeal of taxes in America; the activities of John Wilkes, with criticism of his paper, the North Briton; Parliamentary speeches along with descriptions of their effects on their listeners; and summaries of various alliances, maneuvers, and administrative changes within Parliament. Throughout, Walpole includes his own opinions upon the persons and events he describes.
