To amend the pernicious political activities act of 1939. Hearing before a subcommittee of the Committee on Privileges and Elections, United States Senate, Seventy-eighth Congress, second session, on S. 592, a bill to amend the act entitled "An act to prevent prernicious political activities," approved August 2, 1939, as amended, with respect to the circulation of matter concerning candidates for election to federal offices; S. 593, a bill to amend the act entitled "An act to prevent pernicious political activities," approved August 2, 1939, as amended, with respect to the limitations on political contributions and expenditures; and S. 594, a bill to protect the integrity of the democratic process by requiring disclosure of persons writing, publishing, and circulating scurrilous literature in connection with political campaigns; to deny the use of the mails to such literature and to prohibit its importation into the United States, in default of such disclosure; and for other purposes.
