Summary
Manuscript entries in a printed memorandum book containing notes, possibly of a prominent council officer in Berwick, written within A daily journal, for the year 1750... printed and sold by M. Cooper, in Pater-Noster Row. The book may have belonged to a Col. Forster, whose inscription appears on the rear endpapers. Two years of activity are recorded, as the keeper of the book re-used the calendar, with dates adjusted in ms. for 1751. He noted, for each day, apointments, expenditures, and money received. In the marginal space for "memorandums and observations", the keeper recorded notes, including names of the Lords of the Sessions; Lords of the Justiciary; Commisioners of the Customs in Scotland; the Peers of Scotland; the Michaelmas election at Newcastle, 1750; and several recipes, including one to cure a cold or cough in horses.
