"After the first Gulf War and for ten years, the United Nations had imposed an embargo on the country if Iraq. No imports or exports were allowed in the country. The Iraqi people sold anything and everything to survive. Medicine was scarce. Almost 500,000 children died from treatable illnesses such as pneumonia."
