First card: dated 1993, printed in Docking, Norfolk, England; "A paint peeling from a table wood grained [by the author] in 1991 which peeled in the early winter of 1993."

Second card: dated 2004, printed in Ballybeg Grange, Clonmel, Tipperary, Ireland; "A birch bark peeling from a tree at Chestnut Pond, New Hampshire in 1988 layered in a drawer and forgotten until the spring of 2004 in Tipperary."
