Since the beginning of this century, an arresting assortment of innovative buildings has been erected in the United States. These six architects take the viewers on a walking tour through their structures: Peter Eisenman's University of Phoenix Stadium for the Arizona Cardinals; Steven Holl's Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art Bloch Building; Daniel Libeskind's Denver Art Museum, Frederic C. Hamilton Building; Thom Mayne's U.S. Federal Office Building, San Francisco; Jean Nouvel's Guthrie Theater; and Yoshio Taniguchi's new Museum of Modern Art. In this DVD, a compilation of segments from each of six previous films demonstrates the unusual play of space, light, materials, and form that distinguish these buildings. By seeing all of them together in a condensed version, viewers can compare and contrast the various architectural approaches.
