A collection of clippings (some loose, others laid in, or pasted in), copies of letters, typed quotes from published works (The history of the Burr Portraits" by John E. Stillwell), about the provenance of "The Nag's Head Portrait" including the story of the acquisition of the portrait of Theodosia Burr by Annie Burr Jennings in 1936. Also laid in are two letters about the sale of the painting from Robert Macbeth to Miss Jennings and two other letters (one from 'Oliver' and the other from Alice Acheson) ed friends of Miss Jennings who apparently forwarded that newspaper clippings that are laid in. Also included is a photograph of the painting.
