Summary
Manuscript, on paper, in various cursive scripts, produced in England during the sixteenth century, containing an assortment of political and historical texts. Among these are texts on the succession to the throne; an oration made by the Lord of Ludington, ambassador from the Scots (1560); terms of peace between King Philip II of Spain and King Henry II of France; instructions for Sir Thomas Smith and Sir Henry Norris, ambassadors of the Queen; an incomplete letter to Queen Elizabeth from Nicholas Throckmorton in France; legal texts; a historical text based on Gildas chronicling five historical eras of 500 years each; and notes on events from the years 1566-86.
