Biographical / Historical Note
Leonhard Thurneisser zum Thurn (1530?-1596) was a goldsmith, scholar, physician and alchemist. He was appointed personal physician to the Elector of Brandenburg in 1575, but left Berlin after his conversion to Roman Catholicism in 1584.
Summary
Manuscript copy, in a single formal hand, of Leonhard Thurneisser's botanical work, Historia siue descriptio plantarvm ommnium. Illustrated with 14 diagrams of plants, 9 horoscope charts, and 64 small drawings of alchemical apparatus and symbols.
