Summary
Manuscript, ink on vellum. The shiviti is divided into two registers. The top has the shiviti statement ("I have set the Lord always before me." Psalm 16:8), with a crown above it and two rampant lions on either side. The lower register contains the seven branched candelabrum, with rampant lions on either side of the base. The verses of Psalm 67 form the shape of the candelabrum. The lion was a commonly used animal and always appears in pairs. This amulet also includes statements in large block Hebrew characters regarding devotion to God, which will bring protection from harm. On the verso of this shiviti, there is a second document, with rampant lions on the top. However the text in the lower register is too faded to read.
