Summary
1811 Report of the Committee on a petition that requested relief against certain New York state laws and provisions regarding steamboat navigation. After noting the New York steamboats navigate Connecticut waters, despite the limited ability of Connecticut steamboats to do so in New York waters, the committee suggested measures be taken by the Connecticut General Assembly to resolve this matter, with hopes New York will also do the same. Proposes An act concerning steam-boats, "in order to give the citizens of Connecticut a participation in the business of navigating by steam, now monopolized by a few persons, contrary to the spirit and letter of the Constitution and laws of Congress."
