Manuscript is written in a single, neat hand with side notes and includes an index spanning the first four leaves.
Provenance
Lillian Goldman Law Library copy bears the signature "Richard Pacey, Inner Temple, 1721/2" on the rear pastedown, accompanied with notes on cost of binding and paper. Additionally, both front and rear endpapers feature the signature of "F. Fisher." The rear free endpaper carries the ownership stamp of Francis Penyston, associated with "Cornwell House."

Commonly referred to as Coke on Littleton, the first Institutes includes the text of Sir Thomas Littleton's Tenures with extensive commentary. Hawkins extracted and summarized Coke's commentary for his popular Abridgement. Some of the side notes in the manuscript correspond to Hawkins's text, while others provide original glosses and note relevant to statutes.
