Abstract: In a woodland setting Shelburne and Pitt sit smiling behind a cloth-covered table on which are coins and bags of money. A glum-looking Fox stands several feet distant with hands in pockets. A reference to Fox's exclusion from office while Pitt was Chancellor of the Exchequer during the Shelburne ministry. The title is a quotation from Paradise Lost
