Biographical / Historical

Technoserve was founded in 1968 by Edward P. Bullard to combat poverty in the developing world. Bullard had previously served as a manager of a hospital in Ghana, appointed to the position by the United Church Board for World Ministries. After leaving that position Bullard started Technoserve with a mission to help lift people out of poverty through their own efforts. Bullard served as the president and chief executive officer (CEO) for 28 years. Technoserve works with the rural poor to provide them with informational, technological, and financial resources for the building of competitive farms, businesses, and industries. As of 2020, Technoserve is active in twenty-nine countries in Africa, Eurasia, and the Americas.
