Summary
The Virginia Company Archives is a collection of documents collected by the Ferrar family (and housed in Magdalene College, Cambridge), pertaining to the American colony of Virginia during the early colonial period. The archives document the founding and economic development of Virginia, the interest of the Ferrar family in North American settlement, trade between Britain and America during the period, the ethnic and gender composition of early Virginia, the tensions amongst the colonists, the early relationships between Europeans and Native Americans, and other documents related to the Virginia Company of London, such as the 4-volume Records of the Virginia Company of London (Washington, D.C., 1906-1935), edited by Susan Myra Kingsbury.
