"Herbie Hancock (piano), Al Foster (drums), Buster Williams (bass), Michael Brecker (sax) - who had released his first album as leader the year before this 1988 concert - and Bobby McFerrin (voice) are gathered on stage. The result, as expected, is a mythical concert! With the presence of Bobby McFerrin, the songs necessarily take on a more spectacular dimension and a somewhat comical twist, since he and Herbie Hancock engage in friendly banter as soon as the vocalist arrives on stage. With an air of comfortability, they seem completely at home on stage. At one point, McFerrin takes a seat on the floor. On ""Air Dancing"" and ""Oléo,"" Michael Brecker shows his lyrical power and reminds us that his tenor saxophone sound carries a very personal signature. Then the concert turns into a piano solo for the last 25 minutes. Alone on ""Improvisation (2 hands),"" then accompanied by a pre-programmed piano on ""Improvisation (4 hands)"" and the inevitable "" Island""! Florent Servia".
