Summary
"Between documentary, concert, and even music video (with the presence of Vincent Berhault performing dance and juggling throughout the concert, though not physically joining the group at the end), this 2012 program, framed by the 29th Balieues Bleues festival in Paris, takes us right to the creative heart of the issues driving Build an Ark. Created in 2001 as a pacifist response to the events of September 11, the founding members of this Los Angeles-based group, Dwight Trible (singer and composer) and Carlos Nino (DJ, producer and arranger), have taken on the noble and cumbersome task of bringing peace and calm to the world. The group's name is a tribute to Sun Ra's Arkestra and this meditative spirit touches each member of the band. At the piano, Mark de Clive-Lowe delights listeners with his free contributions, while Dwight Trible recites poetry in a melodic fashion. They are accompanied by Kamau Daa'ood (vocals), Miguel Atwood-Fergusson (violin), Trevor Ware (bass) and Dexter Story (drums). Floriane Esnault".
