BEIN PLAYING CARDS GEN 838: Mounted on 12 sheets (22 x 16 cm). From the Cary Collection of Playing Cards. Removed from the binding of a volume containing two works by Johannes de Pale: Celifodina absconditos stripture thesauros pandeus, (Leipzig, 1515) and Supplementum celifodine (Leipzig, 1516). Accompanied by a typescript article (photocopy) on the discovery, removal, and restoration of the cards: Sobota, Jan. Background of late Gothic playing cards (14 leaves), housed separately.
