According to colophon, manuscript was copied by Derviş Feyzullāh el-Vizevī Ḳāḍīzāde (درويش فيض الله الوزوي قاضي زاده) in H. 29 Shawwāl 1169/27 July 1756 AD.

Binding: Flap binding, blind-tooled gold-painted dark brown leather over paper pasteboards; floral gold center-piece on upper and lower covers.
Note on the front flyleaf recording the birth of a son named Abdullah to the manuscript’s reader/owner on 10 Rebiulahir 1210 H./24 October 1795 AD, and praying for the newborn. A couplet on the initially blank last page.

Summary
Illuminated manuscript, on paper, of Bidāʻat el-ḥükkām fī iḥkām el-aḥkām by Muḥammed b. Muṣṭafā b. Maḥmūd el-İstanbūlī Ḥacibzāde (d. 1100/1688-9), a treatise on Ottoman legal practice and a style guide for composing legal documents and petitions, including sample legal decisions issued by shari'a courts. Begins with a table of contents in Arabic (ff. 1b-5a).
