Incipit: "Bismillāh al-Raḥmān al-Raḥīm wa-ṣallá Allāh ʻalá Sayyidinā Muḥammad wa-ālihi wa-sallama taslīman kathīran wa-mā tawfīqī illā billāh ʻalayhi tawakkaltu. al-Ḥamdu lillāh al-wāḥid al-qahhār al-ʻazīz al-ghaffār mukawwir al-layl ʻalá al-nahār tadhkiratan li-ulī al-qulūb wa-al-abṣār wa-tabṣiratan li-ulī al-albāb wa-al-iʻtibār ..."

البداية: "بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم وصلى الله على سيدنا محمد وآله وسلم تسليمًا كثيرًا وما توفيقي إلا بالله عليه توكلت. الحمد لله الواحد القهار العزيز الغفار مكور الليل على النهار تذكرةً لأولي القلوب والأبصار وتبصرةً لأولي الألباب والاعتبار ..."

Colophon: "Qad tammat al-naskhah al-mubārakah ʻalá yad al-faqīr al-dhalīl al-rājī min Allāh al-jalīl al-ʻafwa fī al-taqṣīr Sulaymān Salāmah fī thamāniyat ʻashar khalat min shahr Shawwāl al-mubārak sanat 1270. Āmīn."

النهاية: "قد تمت النسخة المباركة على يد الفقير الذليل الراجي من الله الجليل العفو في التقصير سليمان سلامة في ثمانية عشر خلت من شهر شوال المبارك سنة 1270. آمين."

Hadith texts on Islamic ethics and conduct of life (the title translates: Gardens of the righteous), compiled and commented upon by Abū Zakarīyā Yaḥyá ibn Sharaf al-Nawawī (1233-1277), a famous and prolific Muslim scholar from the village of Nawá in Ḥawrān, Syria, an authority on Hadith and Islamic law. Copied by Sulaymān Salāmah on 18 Shawwal, 1270 (July 14, 1854). Place of copying not mentioned.
