Biographical / Historical Note
Danny Fields (born Daniel Feinberg, 1939) is an American author, artist manager, and music promoter. In the 1960s he worked with Gloria Stavers as an editor at various teen magazines. In that capacity he befriended photographer Linda Eastman (later McCartney). Fields was part of the downtown New York scene in the 1970s, with connections to both Andy Warhol's Factory circle and the nascent punk scene. He served as a manager for various bands, most notably The Ramones, and worked in varying capacities with the Velvet Underground, the Stooges, the Modern Lovers, MC5, and the Doors among others.
