Biographical / Historical Note
Robert Keil (1898- ) served in the 8th Cavalry Regiment of the United States Army on the Mexican-American Border from 1913 to 1918. He remained in western Texas until 1920, working as a Civil Service packer. Keil was present at the 1918 Porvenir Massacre, an incident in which Texas Rangers killed 15 Mexican villagers outside the village of Porvenir in Presidio County, Texas.
