Translation of the colophon: "Praise be to God who enabled and helped by His favor and abundant kindness this wretched servant, to copy this book, titled 'Kitāb al-ṭabbākh', which was written by our Master, the eminent scholar Abī al-Ḥasan al-Ṣūrī al-Danafī, may God shade his tomb by the clouds of his mercy and forgiveness, and make us and him dwell in His abode of bliss. Copied on the evening of Sunday, the end of Jumādá al-Thānī, of the year 1325 [of the Hijrah = end of July 1908], corresponding to the fifteenth of the month of Ḥazīrān al-Rūmī, of the year 324 [could not be identified]. I, the humble servant, who admits his short coming and inadequacy, Munīr ibn ʻAbd Allāh ibn al-marḥūm al-maʻfw ʻanhu Murjān ibn Salāmah ibn Murjān ibn ʻAbd al-Laṭīf ibn Yaʻqūb ibn Murjān ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Ismāʻīl al-Danafī al-Mūsawī al-Isrāʼīlī al-Sāmirī, have made it for myself and for my brothers who are protected by the providence of God Almighty, Salīm, Badr, and Rūḥī, the core of my heart and the light of my eyes. May God render it a blessing to us and to them. Amen." Followed by two lines in the Samaritan script. And a request: "He who finds a blemish and corrects it will be successful in all his affairs. Amen."
To the right of the colophon a note by the copyist indicating that ink was split over the colophon which he wiped out and amended the text, as follows: "ʻInda hādhā al-masḥ nazal ʻalayhi al-ḥibr, fa-iltazamtu an amsaḥahu wa-aʻmalahu."

Summary
"Kitāb al-ṭabbākh" (Book of the cook), on Samaritan doctrinal theology and Bible exegesis, by Abū al-Ḥasan al-Ṣūrī, a Samaritan priest, theologian, and Bible scholar, who lived, according to some sources, at the end of the eleventh century and the beginning of the twelfth century, and give his name as: Abū al-Ḥasan (or, Ab Ḥisdā/Isdā) Isḥāq ibn Faraj (Marḥīb) ibn Mārūth al-Ṣūrī, father of Abū Isḥāq Ibrāhīm (known as al-Muṣannif and Shams al-Ḥukamāʼ). Neither the author's nisbah "al-Ṣūrī", nor the connotation of the title of his book "al-Ṭabbakh" could be determined. The codex includes quotations in Samaritan. Copied on Sunday, the end of Jumādá al-Thāniyah of the Hijrī year 1326 (end of July 1908), by Munīr ibn ʻAbd Allāh ibn Murjān ibn Salāmah ibn Murjān ibn ʻAbd al-Laṭīf ibn Yaʻqūb ibn Murjān ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Ismāʻīl al-Danafī al-Mūsawī al-Isrāʼīlī al-Sāmirī, for his own use and the use of his three brothers: Salīm, Badr, and Rūḥī.
