Illuminated manuscript, on paper, of Şeyḫzāde es-Seyyid Meḥmed Tevfīḳ's Risāle fi'l-baḥs ve'l-münāẓara, a treatise on dialectics and argumentation.

Treatise (ff. 2b-12a) is preceded by three introductory notes in Arabic, each written and stamped by a different author (ff. 1a-2a). Each one begins by praising God, presents and laudatory summary of the treatise, and closes by praising Sultan Abdülmecit. The first was written by El-Dā'ī el-Hācī Aḥmed Ḥalevī, known as Hācī Tatlı Efendi (f. 1a); the second by Nā'il 'Abduh Mes'ūd, a teacher in Mes'ūdiyye Medrese in Kayseri; the third by Es-seyyid Muḥammed S̲ābit, a former teacher and mufti in Kayseri.
