Printed land examination book with manuscript entries by John Pevey, of Seattle, Washington, documenting his survey of lands in Kitsap County, Washington, including lands in Sidney, Silverdale, Bangor, Pearson's Point, Port Madison and Port Gamble. The volume contains entries for the name and location of sections examined; date examined; name of examiner; hand-drawn maps of each section; and manuscript notes indicating the type and quality of soil and timber, including an estimate of the "merchantable" timber. A note signed by Pevey at the end of the volume indicates that he conducted the examinations for the county commissioners and state auditor. The cover title, Kitsap County School Lands, written in Pevey's hand, has been crossed out. Printed headings throughout volume reading Land Examination--N.P.R.R. Co., Western District, were modified by Pevey who crossed out N.P.R.R. Co. and wrote Kitsap County.
