Summary
Manuscript of an illustrated satire on women's hooped dresses. The narrative, probably by a young Roman Catholic, is written on rectos only with a pen and ink illustration on every page. It describes the Pope's investigation of the problem of crinolines, which prevent women from entering the confessional, and ends with an auto-de-fé of hoops in "all the principal Piazzas."
