Binding: Original cardboard wrapper, stitched. Front cover is decorated with calligraphic birds, arranged around an oval containing the inscription "Deborah Taylor. 1693."

Summary
Autograph manuscript, on paper, containing cookery recipes, mostly for sweets and sweet preserves. Included are recipes for orange pudding; gingerbread; apple tarts; "Genoa paste or cream;" cherry jam; several marmalades; and pickled walnuts. A much shorter selection of medicinal recipes is written at the end of the notebook in the same hand, and includes recipes for "surfeit water;" "black salve;" a cure for jaundice; and a drink to "cure the biting of a madd dogg."
