Summary
Manuscript, in a single hand, of a collection of about 96 poems, witty anecdotes, charades, and riddles. Contents include excerpts from Walter Scott's Rokeby and Byron's Giaour and Childe Harold, as well as Robert Burns' John Barleycorn. There are also numerous entries related to theater, including "Mrs Pritchards farewell Epilogue"; "Mrs. Siddons farewell Address"; an inroduction to a poem by Byron with the note "Drury Lane Theatre opened on Saturday the 10th October 1812, when the following Prize poem...was delivered by Mr. Elliston"; and "a list of plays" in riddle form, with the note "Miss Innes gave me the following Charades, &c."
