Summary
The catalogue of the exhibition comprises a selection of the engravings produced in the span of forty years of work of printmaker Alberto Ramos Palacios (Peru 1952), including lithographs, intagliographs, serigraphs and cholegraphs and where the woodcuts (xylographs) stand out for their powerful graphic quality. When the artist's works were first made during the 1980s, the themes that would characterize much of his work were already present, all of them originating from the singular -and reworked- vision of the Andean world forged during his childhood in the Ayacucho town of Occo, in Vilcashuamán, where he also adopted Quechua as his mother tongue.
