Summary
The poetic and musical universe (liturgical songs and melodies) of the mystical abbess Hildegarde Von Bingen, born in Hesse Rhineland in 1098 (died in 1171), a strong personality famous in her time, does not leave one indifferent. But it was daring to propose Superpoze, who designs superb sound architecture on its synthesizers, and the singer Sabine Devieilhe to illustrate her iconoclastic vision of this universe, even if the works of Hildegarde Von Bingen support different readings in the measure that her original scores do not include any indications of tempo or dynamics. In a wing of the Paris Airport transformed into the nave of a Gothic cathedral, without sticking to a particular work, Sabine Devieilhe, the coloratura soprano courted by all the opera houses, and Superpoze, who sometimes officiates alongside the rapper Lomepal, demonstrate, in a perfect harmony of thought and with force and talent, that it is possible to go beyond stylistic and temporal boundaries without distorting the original source. On top of this extremely monotone music, which minimalist composers would not disavow, Sabine Devieilhe allows free vocalizations of long durations to flourish and enriches the melodic fragments with delicious melisms. The comments of the synthesizers underline Superpoze's sensitivity to eschatological discourse. An innovative concert of strange beauty to restore a sort of serenity. Philippe Lesage.
