Summary
It is at the end of Marseille; there is the entrance to the Calanques National Park and the mythical wall of the Baumettes, Marseille's Prison. A large, beautiful stone wall separates the prison from the world outside. On both sides, we observe each other, we look at each other, we guess, we fantasize. We live together, we know each other. And then there are those who every day there come to help. Teachers, artists, workshop leaders ... Their mission is to reintroduce a work ethic, understanding of emotion, and some compassion in this kingdom of stone. This film immerses us in this Marseille institution nestled in the hollow of the pines. We meet the people for whom the prison is an everyday job. For whom it can be a human place, a place of exchange. A city place that belongs to its neighborhood with a wall that brings as close as it separates. A way of reminding that the prison belongs not only to its neighborhood and to society. No wall should cut off completely what's inside from the rest of the world.
