The manuscript law reports of Edward Ward (1638-1714) include some miscellaneous cases and notes from all the high courts of England during his professional life, but the vast majority of them are from the Court of Exchequer. This was where his law pratice was centered and whre he later sat as the Chief Baron. Ward's manuscript reports, which are the foundation of this edition, are presently in Lincoln's Inn; they are cataloged as Misc. 557 to Misc. 559 and Misc. 531 to Misc.539."--Page [vii].
