The book provides an interdisciplinary approach to the research potential ofa histological inspection of excavated bone finds. Anthropologists, forensicspecialists, palaeontologists and palaeopathologists have to deal with the unique problems associated with the investigation of mineralised tissues which have been buried in different soil environments for a long time. A summary of the appropriate methods of investigation of species, determination of age at death and the diagnosisof pathology is presented.
