Biographical / Historical Note
Thomas Hayley (1680 or 1681-1739) was a prebendary of Chichester Cathedral, Sussex, England from 1705 until 1735, and Dean of Chicester from that date until his death. He was rector of Dry Drayton in Cambridgeshire from 1718 to 1724, when he was named vicar of Amport in Hampshire. He was the grandfather of the writer William Hayley (1745-1820), best known for his biography of William Cowper.
Summary
Autograph manuscript sermon on Exodus 13:8. The sermon is preceded by a list of dates and places preached, from 1705 to 1727. It was several times preached on or near Christmas Day, and the list is annotated, "Xmas Day."
