Summary
Provides a section by section analysis of H.R. 1526, the Security and Freedom Ensured Act of 2005, and S. 737, the Security and Freedom Enhancement Act of 2005, both to amend the Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (USA PATRIOT) Act and the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) of 1978 to limit the use of surveillance and issuance of search warrants in terrorism investigations, restrict FISA tangible item access orders and national security letters, revise the definition of "domestic terrorism," and extend expiring provisions of the USA PATRIOT Act.
