Summary
Examines treatment of trade preferences for developing countries under the World Trade Organization (WTO) and its predecessor, the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT), in light of general WTO/GATT principle that member countries must extend most-favored-nation tariff status equally to the products of all other WTO/GATT members. Reviews trade preference legislation in the 109th Congresses.
