Summary
A young woman abandons her child in the maternity home. She returns to her village hoping for a warm welcome from her family. Her mother gives her the cold shoulder because of rumors about her affairs in the city. A local tractor driver thinking of her as of 'a woman of easy virtue' invites her to have a good time together. When her mother finds out that her daughter had delivered a child and then abandoned it, she punishes her. The desperate situation of the woman induces her to go to extremes - to commit self-immolation. The film ends with the hope for an awakened feeling of motherhood.
