Numbering Peculiarities
Most issues reprinted multiple times, between 1949 and 1971; various reprint editions of a given title/number are distinguished by date (if given) and/or the latest issue number listed as available for reorder (highest reorder number, or HRN) on the back cover; reprint issues numbered 1-34 originally appeared under the earlier title: Classic comics.
Additional special issues were published semiannually from Dec. 1955-July 1962, numbered 129, 132A, 135A, 138A, 141A, 144A, 147A, 150A, 153A, 156A, 159A, 162A, 165A, 166A, and 167A, along with one unnumbered special issue published in 1964 on the United Nations; including the phrase "Special issue" or "Special edition" on the cover, these titles are distinct from those of corresponding "regular" issues having the same or similar numbering (e.g., regular no. 135 is "Waterloo" and special issue no. 135A is "Ten commandments").
