Summary
Scrapbook relating to Nancy Rolfe's education at the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical College. The scrapbook is comprised of correspondence, personal papers, photographs, and printed ephemera dating from 1921 to 1933. The scrapbook opens with Rolfe's diploma from Lomax High School (1925) in Tampa, Florida, and concludes with a letter confirming her graduation from college in 1933. Snapshot photographs of Rolfe with friends and classmates on campus can also be found in the scrapbook. Correspondence includes letters and greeting cards from friends and family. Examples of Rolfe's school work, such as a "Book Report on 'God Sends Sunday' by Arna Bontemps" with watercolor illustrations, are also part of the scrapbook. Printed ephemera is comprised of programs, broadsides, announcements, menus, and other publications relating to Florida Agricultural and Mechanical College commencement ceremonies, theatrical productions, musical performances, athletics, and other events. Some materials relate to Rolfe's siblings Daniel Thomas Rolfe and Carrie R. Rolfe. A booklet with Graduation Excercises (1921) dates from when Daniel Thomas Rolfe was attending Florida Agricultural and Mechanical College.
