Biographical / Historical Note
Kent Ellis was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in 1921. He received a B.S. from Yale University in 1942, and an M.D. from Yale School of Medicine in 1950, after having served in the military from 1943 to 1946. He interned at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C., and completed his residency at Presbyterian Hospital, New York City, where he served as attending radiologist throughout his active career. He rose through the ranks from 1955-1965 to become Professor of Radiology at Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons, a position he held from1966 to1992. His specialty was cardiac radiology.
