There is no indication in the original work of the date of printing; the name of the printer "Germam Galbard" appears in the border below the title of the "Regimento da declinaçam do sol" (p. 37). J. Bensaude (Histoire de la science nautique portugaise, p. 18. 25) tentatively attributed the date of 1516 to this publication and definitely places it prior to 1518. The Tractado (a translation of Sacro Bosco's Tractatus de sphæra) has title: Tractado de Spera do mũdo tirada de latim em lingoagẽ portugues. Com hũa carta que huũ grãde doutor Allemam mandou a el Rey de Portugall dom Joam ho segundo. The letter (p. 34-36) has caption Seguese a carta q̄ enuiou Hieronimo moñtaro doutor alemā da cidade de norūbergen em Alemanha so serenissimo Rey dō Joham ho segũdo de portugal ... It is dated July 14, 1493.

The "Regimento" (p. 37-72) has title: Seguese ho regimento da declinaçam do sol pera per ella saber ho mareāte em qual parte esta. s. aquem on dalem da linca equinocial. Com ho regimento da estrella do norte. An earlier edition with title "Regimento do estrolabio r do quadrante" and with the "Tractado da spera do muodo" appended is contained in a volume of the Bayerische staatsbibliothek of Munich.
