Bound in a volume with spine title, Gesammelte Theater Zettel von 1831-41; additional items, mostly of a later date, are laid in at front and at back.
Collection contains broadsides announcing plays, operas, concerts, magic shows, circus performances, ballets, lectures, and equestrian events, as well as such public events as balloon ascensions and the opening of a tunnel.
These broadsides were issued in London, Prague, Naples, Antwerp, Munich, Dresden, etc., and include announcements of works by Shakespeare, Carlo Goldoni, Beethoven, Mozart, etc.
London theaters represented in this collection include Covent Garden, Haymarket, Adelphi, and Drury Lane, as well as the pleasure garden or amusement park, Vauxhall, and the circus or performance arena, Astley's.
Also in the collection are two issues of The theatrical journal and dramatic companion and two informational sheets for sights on to be visited on Calton Hill in Edinburgh.
