Summary
The overarching purpose of this text is to focus on a cognitive behavioural and psychoeducational music therapy approach to illness management and recovery with adult psychiatric consumers specific to clinical group-based practice within the United States. Other goals of this monograph include informing administrators of music therapy, providing theory-based approaches to psychiatric music therapy, educating music therapists concerning related literature outside the profession, stimulating research and employment, and influencing legislative policies.
