Title
"Studies on poliomyelitis made by the 'Yale Poliomyelitis Commission,' in New Haven, Conn., June 1931 - November 1931," 1931-1932.
Summary
This volume contains a set of typescripts and published articles representing "a series of scattered studies made during a large epidemic of poliomyelitis which occurred in Connecticut in the summer and fall of 1931." One important paper compares the 1916 polio epidemic and the 1931 epidemic in New Haven. Another paper discusses the milk supply in New Haven in relation to the epidemic. As noted in the foreword, the "Poliomyelitis Commission" did not exist as a sanctioned entity, but later John Paul and his colleague James Trask established the Yale Poliomyelitis Study Unit. This informal volume, dedicated to Grover F. Powers, was a precursor to the series of reprints of the Yale Poliomyelitis Study Unit. See http://hdl.handle.net/10079/bibid/1953120
