Abel F. Fitch, Ammi Filley and others were tried to the Wayne County Circuit Court for burning the freight depot of the Michigan Central Railroad Company at Detroit. Fitch died during the trial, and the case was continued as The people of the state of Michigan vs. Ammi Filley et al.
